Why Do We Like to Watch Sport Competitions?

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 28th, 2010

Why do we like to watch sport competitions? Even people who never engage in physical activity often find themselves in front of the TV, watching football and tennis, basketball and rugby. Sports fans around the world watch with excitement their favorite team play, and never miss a single competition. This Sports articles presents several reasons, trying to solve the mystery involved in this known phenomena of love for sports.

One of the main reasons people like to watch competitions is because they tend to identify themselves with the winners. When they watch the precise moves of Rafael Nadal or Maria Sharapova, see the winning game of Champions League, they feel as if they themselves perform the brilliant move, and brought a victory to their team. Winners get attention from the media and the public, they are interviewed, they appear on TV – the public enjoys watching the known faces and see the winning formula. A fan, who may have never played football in his life, likes to see UEFA Cup, because he can identify himself with the top professionals.

Another reason is the unpredictability of sports games. You can never know how the game will end, which forces you to sit tightly and wait for the crucial moment, which designate all the twists and turns of the game. The course of sports game is always unpredictable: although you can make bets and try to guess the today’s winner, but it is never certain, which makes the game interesting to watch.

Different, but also important reason for watching sports has to do with our national identity. When British watch Liverpool and Chelsea groups, they tend to identify themselves with the players and see all the failures and winnings as if they were their own. Sports games are nowadays considered to be one of the most important factors which help to raise the persons’ national identity.

There are several reasons which may answer the question “why do we like sports”. Perhaps we never tend to think about these reasons while watching tennis or soccer. But they are nevertheless worthy to think about.

Sports Conditioning. . . an Edge Over the Competition

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 25th, 2010

Sports Conditioning offers an edge over the competition. The purpose of sports conditioning is to complement current sports training. Sports conditioning is more demanding than general fitness training. Sports conditioning is ideal for children who strive for greater performance in any sporting activity. It is meant to enhance an individual’s strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, speed, and power, which can be carried over into all sports.

Athletes perform exercises with weights, fitness bands, medicine balls, bodyweight, etc. Athletes and coaches are constantly seeking an advantage over the competition to help them achieve an edge. Many teams and athletes can gain an edge over the competition through intense sports conditioning programs. A good sports conditioning program incorporates specific skills into strength and conditioning to help athlete target specific performance requirements.

Besides improved performance, the conditioning program is an important step in injury prevention. Many athletes are not aware that sports conditioning is a necessity for injury prevention. Conditioning can help develop the strength, flexibility, and agility necessary to protect joints from injury. In recent years more coaches and parents have come to realize the benefits of a conditioning program. Proper training can reduce the incidence of injury in young athletes and also offers teams a chance to grow strong together. Teaching a young athlete proper technique will prevent injury and ensure results, but there is always a chance for injury, even if the body is properly protected and conditioned.

Sports conditioning helps prepare athletes to better able to apply their sport-specific skills. Traditional fitness training is great for helping people look good and achieve basic fitness goals such as weight loss, strength gain, cardiovascular endurance, and more flexibility. Athletes of all levels and abilities need a more sports-oriented training program besides general fitness. Young athletes must include unique exercises that feed into the skill requirements of their sports.

Sports conditioning should be directly related to the type of sport in which the individual participates. A good conditioning program includes strength, power, speed, quickness, agility, movement skills, deceleration, balance, reactivity and anaerobic capacity. The conditioning program should be specific to the sport and should meet the individual needs of the athlete.

The only way to train for peak performance is to have a plan. The conditioning should be complementary to the demands of practices and the game itself. The goal should be two-fold, peak performance in games and future goals. The intensity and extent of an individualized program should take into account the physical needs of the athlete and their goals after a careful evaluation, the time frame established to reach the goals, and the amount of hours each week an athlete can regularly devote to a program.

Sports conditioning is now a year-round commitment for many athletes. It often includes four training seasons each year: pre-season, in-season, post-season, and off-season. The most important aspect of sports conditioning is establishing a good fitness base. Once the athlete has a high level of general fitness they can begin to train with more advanced and more sport-specific exercises. Youth sports conditioning is a fast growing trend in today’s fitness industry. Keep in mind that sports conditioning should be directly related to the sport in which the athlete competes. Most sports conditioning programs are designed for athletes who are training to improve their performance, but they do offer injury prevention benefits because the athlete will become stronger, more flexible, and more ready to compete. Make sure you find a quality program with qualified trainers because your child’s health and happiness come first.

The Benefits of Electrolytes in Sports Drinks

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 22nd, 2010

It has been 50 years since the sports drink was introduced to athletes in the United States. The first sports drink, Bengal Punch, was given to athletes at Louisiana State University in 1958. Gatorade, the most recognizable name in sports drinks, debuted the following decade at the University of Florida and revolutionized the way athletes energize and re-hydrate themselves during a sporting event.

Since then, other sports drinks similar to Gatorade have been introduced to the market, including Glaceau Vitamin Water. These drinks are incredibly popular with adult and teen athletes, as well as beverage consumers in general.

The main ingredients that sports drinks contain which enhance athletic performance are electrolytes, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals. Athletes can gain many benefits from sports drinks while they are physically active. Among the most important of these aspects are:

Replenishment of Electrolytes

Electrolytes are salts that are naturally part of body fluids. When an athlete (or a gardener or a mail carrier or anyone else who engages in physical activity) sweats, electrolytes are lost through the sweat. If electrolytes are lost too quickly, the body does not have the ability to restore them as rapidly as they were lost. Sports drinks contain electrolytes such as chloride, sodium, and potassium to help replenish what was lost through sweat. Introducing electrolytes back into the body helps keep dehydration from occurring. Dehydration can become a very serious problem if not attended to. Electrolytes help to increase the absorption of fluids into the bloodstream.

A person who is exerting energy can quickly become dehydrated, in as little as 30 minutes. Therefore, it is suggested that athletes begin drinking a sports drink even before they start their activity.

Replenishment of Energy

Anyone who has ever exercised knows that fatigue can occur quickly. One of the reasons for this is that exercise increases metabolism, and when a person’s metabolism is working overtime, it breaks down carbohydrates quickly. Carbohydrates are one of the main sources of energy for the body.

By replacing lost carbohydrates, the body can continue to work efficiently and an athlete has more energy to complete their activity.

Replacement of Lost Vitamins and Minerals

The human body also draws energy from various vitamins and minerals only found in certain foods, beverages or supplements. Sports drinks contain these vitamins and minerals to help keep the body working efficiently during activity.

Quenching of Thirst

As the body loses fluids, a person who is exerting energy will become thirsty. The ingredients found in sports drinks can quench thirst as effectively as water and better than soft drinks leaving the person feeling more refreshed and energized.

The Right Balance of Ingredients

In the past, many athletes created their own energy/sports drinks. Some still do. However, a sports drink that has a proper balance of ingredients will be much more effective than a homemade version. Most commercial sports drinks have the correct balance of electrolytes, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and liquids. Without the right mix of ingredients in the proper amounts, a sports drink could hinder instead of enhance performance. Upset stomach or poor absorption rate of the drink could occur from the wrong balance of ingredients.

A Variety of Color and Flavor Choices

If you think that the color of a sports drink does not make a difference, spend a few minutes at the snack bar at a Little League field. Children, and many adults, find the color choice very important. Color can invoke a mood such as a cool blue color giving the feel of thirst quenching mountain water or a hot red color invoking the image of energy. It may be psychological, but it is still important.

Those who drink sports drinks also have taste preferences, and with the variety of sports drinks offered today, there is a choice for every taste.

They Don’t “Run Through” a Body as Quickly as Water

Water may quench thirst, but it doesn’t replenish any of the lost electrolytes, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals that sports drinks can. Although all of these things are lost during sweating, they can also be lost through urination. Water causes more frequent urination than sports drinks do. Therefore, sports drinks not only replenish these important electrolytes, carbohydrates, vitamins or minerals, they also can help the body hold on to the ones they already have for a longer period of time.

The main ingredient in any sports drink is, of course, water. Water is important for re-hydration. The additional ingredients in sports drinks make them a better choice than water alone for athletes and others who exert a lot of energy and need to replenish the essential nutrients that have been quickly depleted in their bodies.

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 18th, 2010

There is no doubt that American sports are big business today, with new stadiums and arenas cropping up all the time and sports paraphernalia sales wracking in a huge amount of cash. While the popularity of American sports remains consistent, the list has evolved over the years as the American public has embraced a variety of sports and celebrity players. We have the top five American sports, with a list that may surprise you. For example, while tennis and soccer are both frequently viewed offerings worldwide, neither made the cut for the top five American sports on this list.

1. Baseball

Baseball has long been thought of as the all-American sport – ranking right up there with apple pie and Chevrolet cars as the stuff that this great country was founded on. Baseball can still boast the fact that it is the longest played sport in America, and is the one pastime that has been able to transcend racial prejudice and political problems. The sport came from the English version of cricket, and is still one of the top sports in America today.

2. Football

Football came to this country in the latter part of the nineteenth century, when teams began representing their colleges in this sport. Within a few decades, the sport turned professional, with the first Super Bowl being played in 1935. This sport has overtaken baseball as the most popular sport in this country, undoubtedly fueled by the many gifted players who have become celebrities of sorts across the nation. Today, the Super Bowl is the most viewed television program in the country.

3. Basketball

Basketball is a popular sport in America, but this pastime also has global popularity with Russian players now joining the ranks of the NBA. This sport has also gained a following from the many well known players that have excelled in the sport. Probably the most famous basketball player to date is Michael Jordan. Basketball season is a nice way to span the season between football and baseball for many sports buffs.

4. Hockey

Hockey did not originate in the United States, but it has certainly become a well known sport in this country. Most major cities boast a major league hockey team, and many host minor league and college teams as well. Hockey originated in Canada and one of the appeals of the sport is the fact that these two countries play so closely together. Wayne Gretzky may be the most famous hockey player to have ever played, and he has continued his legacy in the coaching realm in recent years.

5. Golf

Tiger Woods may be one of the top reasons that this sport has made the top five list in the United States. Most golf aficionados never get tired of watching this amazing athlete in action. Golf is equally popular around the world, especially in Scotland where it originated.

Bettin Sports “the Bookie Buster”

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 14th, 2010

Are you sick and tired of all the sports betting scams on the web?  If you’re looking for the real deal when it comes to making money from sports betting,There’s finally a quick and easy way to make really good cash from betting on sports. . . even if you are scared to death of anything even slightly technical and have absolutely zero experience at sports betting.

This is because there is nothing technical to do and you will not be spending more than 5 minutes in front of your computer!

In fact if you can login into a sportsbook, and know how to use a calculator, then you have more than enough expertise to do this already.

You have just stumbled upon something so powerful you can be making serious cash betting on sports in a matter of days, yet so simple you can do it without ever having to learn all of these stupid betting systems that seem to be bounded about everywhere.

The fact is. . . if you do not use a proven strategy, you are GUARANTEE to lose money.   No wonder these sportsbooks are ready to pay the search engines $12 every time a surfer click one of their links.   That’s a cheap price to buy a sucker.

Sportsbooks know that the average sports gambler will lose more than $300 a week – Right into their banks.   Every innocent surfer who thinks they will make a few dollars on a bet ends up donating more than $300 to these sites.

The reality is that 98% of sports gamblers are losing money…a lot of money.   The remaining 2% are professional sports gamblers.   They are making a living at sports betting.   Is it possible ?  Yes of course.

Ask any sportsbook’s manager and he will tell you that 2% of his regular clients are always winning over the long run.   How can you be in this 2% ?

But before I tell you about these secret formulas you need to know what it’s like for most people starting out to make money betting on sports and the unethical scam of the guru. . .

Let me tell you there is an absolute ton of information on how to make money betting on sports. This has been fed to us through an endless supply of ebooks, courses, memberships.

A lot of these systems are worthless junk, some of it is just brilliant and most of it falls somewhere in-between. There is just so much info out there that you could spend all your spare time reading, studying and wasting more and more of your hard earned cash on the next greatest thing.

It’s a wonder anyone ever gets started. Most people will take in the info and do nothing with it. Of those that do, most will have spent a small fortune on ‘sports betting’ and ‘handicapping’ information products.

Making money betting on sports the old way is very hard.   But what if. . .

there were sports betting systems that could generate money almost immediately.

there were sports betting systems that anyone could easily use and have success.

there were sports betting systems that could start generating substantial income right away.

there were sports betting systems that don’t need any handicapping skills.

there were sports betting systems that only needed to be learned once and then use over and over again as long as you want.

there were sports betting systems that are only mechanical and mathematical.

there were sports betting systems that couldn’t possibly fail.

there were sports betting systems that are designed to make you turn $200 into over $10,000 within weeks.

Would you be willing to give it a shot?

Most people don’t have anymore spare cash lying around. Instead they lost all their bankroll and looking for a way to win it back. Which is largely why they will desperately try to buy all they can about sports betting. The”Bookie Buster” simple formulas will enable anyone to make money online without learning any specialist techniques whatsoever.

In the ebook “Bookie Buster”, for each of the 25 systems, the exact steps you need to take in the exact order you need to take them are laid out for you to follow. Every last step is explained for you in full detail from A to Z. Nothing is left out, nothing is left to guess-work and nothing else is needed to piece it all together. More than 12,000 people got their hand on these systems and many of these people now consistently make over $500 per day from sports betting around the world.

In other words, the “Bookie Buster” will help you make money from sports betting while sitting at home. The strategies are absolutely watertight, even if you’ve never placed a bet in your entire life.

In just a couple of days, anyone can create an income  that will continue to make them money betting on any sports week after week. . . forever!

It is so simple that a child can do it and will give you the freedom and spare cash to stop worrying and start living.

And remember if you can login into a sportsbook, and know how to use a calculator, then you have more than enough expertise to do this already. http://www. novyar-ebizproducts. synthasites. com

So in these situations it becomes very essential for sportsmen to take sports car insurance. As sports car insurance helps them to cope with any mishaps which might happen during driving.

Four Myths That Can Keep Girls From Getting Into the College of Their Choice, Playing the Sport They Love and Winning a Sports Scholarship

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 2nd, 2010

Today female athletes are “in. ” It has not always been that way. A generation ago most girls and women were called “tomboys” if they wanted to participate in sports, especially team sports with physical contact. But now it is commonplace for girls to play catch with their fathers while their mothers are off playing soccer or softball. . . or ice hockey. As little girls grow into women encouraged to be physically active, their self-confidence and skills grow and they find increased opportunities to use their athletic talents. One way that today’s female athletes benefit is by playing sports in college and by getting scholarships to help pay for the exorbitant costs of a college education.

According to the book “How To Win A Sports Scholarship,” by Penny Hastings and Todd Caven, nearly 167,000 females played collegiate sports in the 2005-06 school year. Many of them were on full or partial scholarships.

Unfortunately, certain myths surround college athletic scholarships and often prevent talented female athletes from taking advantage of the possibilities available to them. Let’s debunk these myths one by one.

Myth #1–You have to be a superstar to win a sports scholarship. False!

Only 1% of the nation’s high school or community college student-athletes are superstar or “blue-chip” athletes. These elite athletes have no problem catching the eye of college coaches. In fact, their biggest dilemma might be a constantly clamoring telephone or overflowing e-mail inbox! Clearly, if these blue-chippers were the only athletes recruited, colleges could not fill their rosters or field a team. So, what happens to the other 99%? Some make up the teams of colleges around the country, but others do not even try because they think only superstars get the breaks.

Myth #2–College coaches will automatically hear about you if you are good enough. False!

The truth is that college coaches will probably never hear about you unless you bring yourself to their attention. No matter how good you are on your high school or club swim, tennis, basketball or lacrosse team, only college coaches within your geographical area will ordinarily know about you. There are thousands of female athletes across the country who excel. But shrinking athletic budgets at all but the largest, most competitive schools prohibit coaches from scouring the countryside looking for players so many talented student-athletes are overlooked in the recruiting process.

Myth #3–If you want a sports scholarship, you must have the talent to play at a Division I school. False!

Over 180,000 athletic scholarships are available each year in all sports (many of them divided so that a single soccer scholarship, for instance, might be given as partial scholarships to three or four players). Not all of these scholarships are from Division I schools. Many student-athletes think about Division I programs when they think about playing collegiate athletics because of their high visibility. They see them on television and read about them in the newspaper. But while Division I programs draw the most attention, there are several thousand other colleges with competitive sports programs that offer college scholarships to help pay student-athletes’ expenses. Savvy young women look at a variety of college programs, not just Division I, when investigating options.

Myth #4–There are few sports scholarships available for women. False!

Scholarships, as well as other intercollegiate sports opportunities for women, have increased dramatically and will continue to do so. According to Mary Jo Kane, director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sports, at University of Minnesota, “Title IX (Federal legislation mandating equal opportunity for males and females) fundamentally changed the landscape of sports, because without it, we wouldn’t be where we are. In one generation we have gone from young girls hoping there is a team to young girls hoping they can make the team. ”

Sports scholarships are awarded to women in 24 college sports from archery to field hockey, lacrosse to soccer, rowing to water polo. Sports called “emerging sports” by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), offer additional opportunities to females. These sports are so new to intercollegiate competition that even young women who have little or no proficiency in one of these sports find that their athletic backgrounds can sometimes get them recruited by college coaches trying to fill their rosters. Archery, badminton, bowling, equestrian, rugby, squash, synchronized swimming and team handball are all emerging sports.

Laying to rest the sports myths is an important step for young women interested in playing collegiate sports. But it is not enough. You cannot afford to sit back and wait to be recruited. It is up to you to market yourself—to grab the attention of college coaches and cause them to begin recruiting you.

Money Management and the Sports Book

Posted in Uncategorized  by admin on June 1st, 2010

I know a little about money management, as I’ve been in the investment business for many years.   I’ve been a Principal, a Registered Advisor and a top producer in the financial services field; and there’s an element of stocks and bonds that can be related to sports gaming, if you analyze deeply enough.   Clearly, one of the most important components to investing, or sports gaming, and wagering, is the issue with money management. Whether it’s Black Jack or Poker, picking a football team to win, or mutual funds and stocks and bonds, it’s fairly common sense that a sound, disciplined approach, need be in place if you’re going to be successful.   (When you’ve got stress going on in the real world, I’d suggest not going to the Sport’s Book at this time.   You really need to be picking winners and managing money with a clear mind.   Trouble in the real world is not the time to be making money decisions).

Keep in mind, while I can help a client figure out a portfolio, I also know how it feels to get that ‘juice’ before a big game, with dollars riding at the sports book.   But let me remind you that the winners of this skill and game are the players that don’t over-react, nor become emotional, or do the most common mistake a maverick gambler can do: “chase” the bet”.   This skill is really better served for the even keel, and, rational player, who might for example, step back, and assess, stick to a solid game-plan, and not rush their next decision, often out of dismay, even anger.   It may indeed be very much exciting, or a thrill, to “chase” down a Sunday evening, to “get back to even”, but lets face it; this is the stuff that can get you “killed”.   No analysis really needed with this fine fault, but to “chase down” anything related to money decisions, well, usually turns out very, very bad.   You should never do that when you’re dealing with your financial portfolio, so why apply that to a decision involving anything else that involves money, like sports gaming?

A sports player actually breaks even in sports like football, at 52. 4 percent, not the 55 that many gamers might think. That would be calculated at 11-10 odds.   How’s that?  Simple.  If you have 11 games right, 10 wrong, then that’s 11 games divided by the total of 21, with the result being 52. 4.    Obviously, anything better than that will make you a profit.   (Many gamers assume 55 winning picks is the key, as 55 would you get you 10 more winners than losers over 100 games wagered.   But remember, the house cut, or (juice), only goes to bets that lose.   So, for illustration purposes, if you tried to win 100 dollars a game over 100 games played, you’d have to place 110 dollars per bet(10 percent, or juice to the house, is 10 dollars per bet), on every game, and if you hit 55 games correctly, you’d lose 45, for a net 10 game advantage.   The 45 losses would result in an extra $450 dollars having to be taken away from the net 10 games profit to cover the house (losses times 10 percent to the house), but you’d actually still have $550 in your pocket as net profit. )  My point here, is that obviously, this is better than a break-even figure.   You don’t necessarily have to be that good to win in sports gaming.

So, how can this help you in your own personal money management with sports gaming?  Sports gaming can still be a lot tougher than you might think.   To have a successful season, again you’ll have to hit better than 52. 4 percent, but the average gamer, according to different sources, hits somewhere between 45-48 percent.   This is worse than simply by chance, or flipping coin when trying to figure out winners?  If your betting style is all over the place, and you’re “chasing” a dwindling success pattern, then this is simply going to lead you to disaster.   So, your best chance of success is to really stick to a sound disciplined money-management system, calculate your risk on a select few games per session, and find enough information from sources like EZ Sports Winners, to help advise you on those decisions. You’ll increase your chance of success many times over.   If you end up trying to do your own analysis, and you find a zillion games you’d like to be involved in, well, this is a red-flag, and you’ll do yourself a big favor the next time you go to the sports book,  take a big step back, and gather yourself.   Too many games or contests considered can get you hurt quickly in this business!

You can limit a disaster by creating a sound investment and money-management plan that begins with arriving at a calculated amount of what you, or any investor, would like to risk for his entire investment, and for our purpose for the sports-player here, over the course of a year or season.    Break that down to a per-week basis, then per-game, you can then arrive at an approximate amount to play on any given contest.   A great way to do this is to figure the largest amount of money you’d play on any one game, then wager accordingly.   A great way to do that is to figure out the total bank-roll you’d like to limit yourself to for the entire season, and multiply this amount by 2%.   This number gives you a decent top-game-play estimate.  If your total bankroll is going to be $50,000 for example, then in this case, you’re looking at a $1,000 ($50,000 time 2%, or . 02).   For further strategy, a sports player could decide on the strength of each play, and employ a rating system, such as the one offered by EZ Sports Winners, to decide an amount to wager on any given play.   (EZSW employs a 1-6 game rating, with 6 being the best.   We use a 5-dime system on each suggested wager, with every 5 dimes representing 5 percent of your top-game play.   Each rating number is worth 5 dimes.   So, in this instance, with $1,000 being your top play, a game with a rating of one, then this 5-dime play would be worth a $50 dollar wager). For further explanation, visit our EZSW system page:  http://www. ezsportswinners. com/ezsw_system. htm.    This plan will help create a sound money-management strategy that will keep you out of trouble!   When you do in fact win, a great way to apply this to an increased wager is to take half your winnings and put them away in reserve, using the other half spread out on an average per-game basis, divided up by how many additional week-ends you decide you’d want to play.    For example, lets say you end up the week-end  with a $10,000 dollar profit.   And you have 14 weeks left in the NFL season.   You’d put $5000 away in reserve, and the other $5000 could be added to a week-end basis, averaged out over 14 weeks.   That’s roughly $350 dollars a weekend, maybe $50 to $100 dollars a game over the course of the rest of the season.   This will help manage your decisions when are you winning, rather than “doubling-up” on any single play, or losing your winnings on any one poor decision.   While this doesn’t seem exciting, this discipline will help ensure your best chance of success!

With that said, how can we truly protect against the downside? Well, let’s face it, there’s a risk no matter what kind investment, and sports-gaming is no different.   We can however, put stop-losses in place, to protect a major landslide.   Remember, any investment, to make a profit, engages a certain amount of risk.   Any significant return on your money has everything to do with the amount of risk you want to take.   If you want absolutely no risk, forget sports gambling.   Put it in the bank.   In fact, don’t even touch a mutual fund.   Put it in a savings account at the bank, quite seriously.   Remember too though, and for our illustration purpose, you in fact get little return in exchange for this low risk, and your ‘real’ return is even less.   Take out the taxes on your low guaranteed rate, as well as the amount of inflation, and your dollar can be in fact losing value over time in various instances.    And of course, your time frame is very important on figuring your risk tolerance.   Many people of course need the stability of their money, and this would of course make a lot of sense for a retired person, or for people with a short-term situation, such as monthly budget dollars.   The “return” isn’t your goal here, as stability is your main concern.   Obviously, sport-gaming isn’t the channel for these kinds of dollars.

But at the other end of the spectrum of course, we have the sports investment, or the sport bet.   It’s at the most extreme in terms of risk and reward, and you’re going to have to understand this, if your goal is to try and win, and make rational decisions, rather than just enjoy simple recreation (although there’s nothing wrong with this of course, if that’s your goal).  But, It’s not for the feint of heart.   It’s a rapid result, with the only money used in this recreation being you luxury money, or the money you could easily afford to lose.   This is a very serious note I might add.   All the more reason to have a sound plan.   I implore you to have a sound gaming strategy, a solid money-management system, and a discipline, to stick to your plan rather than rush judgment, to help keep you from making irrational and emotional decisions.   This will ultimately serve you for the most optimum chance of success.

Bottom line, though, a more practical way of establishing your working bankroll each season is to simply ask yourself how much you can afford to lose in a worst case scenario and use that amount as your working bankroll. Maybe this amount increases as you put some winnings away, which is very important, but this would of course help you stop a total disaster in any given session.

Good luck!
